Our Story

Hi, we’re Srishti and Abhishek — founder and co-founder of Modern Gharonda. I’m Srishti, and alongside working in IT for over 11 years, I’ve always been deeply connected to creativity, crafts, and handmade things since childhood.

Before Modern Gharonda, I ran a small handmade business creating personalized scrapbooks and gifts. Life and motherhood brought unexpected challenges that paused my creative journey for a while, but the desire to create never left me. During that phase, I discovered the beauty of handblock and screen printed textiles — and something instantly clicked. It felt less like I chose this art and more like this art chose me.

Drawn towards the warmth, charm, and timeless beauty of traditional prints, I started exploring this world further. That’s how Modern Gharonda began — with a vision to bring traditional handblock and screen prints into everyday living through thoughtfully curated bedsheets, bathrobes, tote bags, and lifestyle essentials.

Abhishek has been my biggest support through every step of this journey — helping me through moments of self-doubt, handling things I could never have managed alone, and keeping me grounded whenever I feel overwhelmed. His constant support is a huge part of what makes Modern Gharonda possible.

And then there’s our little one — the heart behind it all 🤍 Motherhood made me realize how much strength I truly carry within myself and became one of the biggest reasons I wanted to reconnect with my creative side again. Modern Gharonda is more than a small business to us — it is a dream built with love, resilience, family, and creativity.
